The Super Eagles return to action in the November international window with two games against Tanzania in Group L of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. After two matchdays, Nigeria are second, three points behind Guinea-Bissau.
How Nigeria got here
Eric Chelle's men started with a 2-1 win over Madagascar in Uyo on 25 September, before a painful 3-0 defeat in Bissau on 29 September that handed Guinea-Bissau top spot with six points from six.
Why every point matters
Tanzania, co-hosts of AFCON 2027, are already sure of their place at the finals. That leaves only one qualifying spot in Group L for Nigeria, Guinea-Bissau and Madagascar: the best-ranked team other than Tanzania goes through. Two wins in November would put the Super Eagles firmly back in the race.

- 1. Guinea-Bissau — 6 pts (+5)
